Part of the autonomous region of Andalusia, Malaga offers the perfect introduction to Spanish culture for your students.
That’s because so much of what we consider to be emblematic of the culture of Spain is, in fact, Andalusian in origin, including flamenco!
Many visitors pass through Malaga on the way to the beach resorts of the Costa del Sol, but few tend to stop here, which is a real shame. Malaga is rich in history and culture and is well worth taking the time to explore on a Spanish school trip.
The city was founded by the Phoenicians in around 770 B.C., making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
Among the city’s many points of interest are a magnificent Roman theatre, right in the middle of the city, and the imposing Alcazaba, an Islamic palatial fortification built in the early 11th century.
On a Spanish school trip to Malaga, you’ll stay in the lovely seaside resort of Benalmadena, where you’ll discover there’s so much more to Malaga and the Costa del Sol than the sun, sea and sand!
Benalmadena is one of the most popular resorts on the Costa del Sol because although the beaches are spectacular, there are plenty of other things to do here, such as visiting aquariums and historic castles, exploring the town’s glamorous marina and even visiting an amusement park!
As well as Spanish language lessons at a specialist language school, your students will enjoy a rich cultural activities programme including a flamenco dance lesson!
And to complete the total immersion experience, we can arrange for your students to stay with carefully selected host families, giving them a unique insight into Spanish culture.
