30 years ago, in 1986, French teacher Keith Sharkey decided to create a school tour operator that would put the needs of teachers and their students first. He wanted to help teachers who, like him, held a passionate belief in the benefits of educational travel and wanted to provide their students with unforgettable learning experiences.

The result was Halsbury Travel, now one of the few remaining independent school tour operators. Keith is still our Managing Director and runs the company alongside his wife Sue, also a former teacher, and children, Stuart and Katie. The Sharkey family are supported by a dynamic team of school travel specialists and a number of other former teachers.
