Located in the spectacular Aosta Valley, Pila is a fantastic resort that offers incredible views across Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn. It's also just a 20-minute gondola ride from the Roman town of Aosta and all its attractions. Pila itself is a purpose-built resort, which is ideal for school ski trips as everything you could possibly need is within easy reach. The resort is popular with local skiers from Milan and Turin at weekends, but is quiet during the week, so your group won't be spending all their time queuing for lifts and will have plenty of space to practise and build their confidence.

Pila is best for intermediates, but there's plenty here for beginners and advanced skiers too. There are some lovely nursery areas both in Pila itself and at the top of the Aosta gondola. Long blues are accessible from both, and are usually pretty quiet during the week, getting busier at the weekends. Around 70% of the slopes here are red, and most wind their way through pretty pine forests. There are some lovely cruising slopes too and you'll soon find out why Pila has a reputation for some of the best groomed slopes in Italy.

Chalet des Alpes
The lovely Chalet des Alpes is conveniently located on the main road in Pila, just off the slopes. Facilities include a ski storage room with boot warmers and ski racks, as well as an exit directly onto the slopes. There's also free WiFi throughout the property and a buffet-style breakfast with hot and cold items is served daily. All 27 guestrooms benefit from en-suite bathroom facilities.

Your quote will be put together by an experienced Tour Adviser who’ll be an expert in skiing trips and knows our resorts really well. They’ll work with you to create a trip to suit your group’s needs and budget.
Launching your trip to parents and students
The next step is to get your trip approved and get students signed up to it. Our ‘Trip Launch Pack’ will help you with this step. This is full of resources (all free to download) designed to make your life easier at this crucial point in the trip planning process.
After you’ve booked
Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start work on the finer details. They’ll make sure your ski lessons, ski hire and après-ski activities are all sorted and they’ll take on most of the other admin tasks for your trip (so you can look forward to the trip as much as the kids).
Support while you’re away
While you’re abroad, you’ll be looked after by a Halsbury rep based in your resort. And Halsbury HQ staff will be on the end of the phone 24 hours a day. You’ll get a final info pack before you go with all the info you need, plus access to all your trip documents on the Vamoos app.
After your trip
When you return from your trip, we’ll ask you to complete a detailed feedback survey, so we can continue our service. This is also the perfect time to start planning your next trip, so you can give parents plenty of time to pay for it (and make it easier for you).
