Take a school ski trip to Valmeinier and ski at the crossroads of the Northern and Southern Alps! Valmeinier is a small, traditional village that is linked to the rest of the Valloire, making this the largest ski area in the region. The resort itself is set at 1800m, between the Vanoise and Ecrins National Parks. Valmeinier 1800 is a modern, purpose-built resort, constructed in a style that compliments its unspoilt, rural surroundings. It’s also really compact and peaceful, which makes it ideal for school ski groups. For après-ski entertainment, there are cinemas, a bowling alley and a small selection of cafes, restaurants and shops. Need more? The neighbouring village of Valloire is just a short drive away.

Valmeinier has direct access to 150km of downhill skiing, with 89 individual pistes that are served by 30 ski lifts. There are a variety of pistes suitable for all levels of ability, including wide blue and red ‘motorways’ and tougher descents, such as the excellent ‘JMB’, which heads down towards Valloire or the mogul fields. Advanced skiers will also enjoy the ‘Cascade’ and ‘Olympic’ pistes, two of the nine blacks in the area. Valmeinier also has a great snow record. And, if Mother Nature decides she wants to be difficult, snow cannons cover 50km of the runs.

Ideally situated just 20m from the start of the chairlift, this hotel is perfect for your group. The hotel sleeps 55 people in rooms sleeping between 2-5 people, all with private bathrooms. This hotel has a lot of experience in dealing with school groups and has plenty of facilities to keep your group entertained in the evenings. Among these are a TV room and lounge area, table football, computer games and a bar where the hotel puts on evening entertainment for the group including games, karaoke and discos. Other more practical facilities include a large dining room where breakfast and evening meals are served and a heated storage room to keep your skis and boots in.

After you’ve booked
Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start work on the finer details. They’ll make sure your ski lessons, gear hire and après-ski activities are all sorted and they’ll take on most of the other admin tasks (so you can look forward to the trip as much as the kids).
Support while you’re away
While you’re away, you’ll be looked after by a Halsbury rep based in your resort. Plus, our HQ staff will be on available by phone, 24 hours a day. You’ll get a final info pack before you go with all the info you need, plus access to all your trip documents on the Vamoos app.
After your trip
When you return, we’ll ask you to complete a detailed feedback survey, so we can continue our service. This is also the perfect time to start planning your next trip, so you can give parents plenty of time to pay for it (and make it easier for you).
