The town’s streets are pedestrianised and there are plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes, giving you ample opportunity to pick up souvenirs, or sample the local cuisine. You certainly won’t be short of things to do here – there’s a sports complex with an indoor fun pool and ice-skating rink (hosting regular ‘premier league’ hockey matches). Or you can try curling and sleigh rides, or even visit the art galleries and museums.

Your days won’t be wasted queuing as the 138km of pistes are served by 49 lifts. Despite being regarded as a low-altitude ski area, the highest slopes reach an impressive 3030m (up on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier) and, with all of the well-groomed pistes covered by snow cannons, snow coverage tends to be pretty reliable here. The resort has a very diverse ski area with plenty of slopes for beginners and more experienced skiers - making it the ideal resort for a school ski trip to Austria.

This small family-run property is a great budget-friendly choice for school groups looking for sole-occupancy in a great location - at the end of the lake in the hamlet of Schüttdorf, only 500m from the Areitbahn gondola which is a quick and easy walk. We also have the added bonus of FREE ski storage for boots and poles at the Areitbahn Gondola.It is within easy walking distance of the shops in Schüttdorf, and is just 3km from Zell am See town centre and 6km from Kaprun and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. Rooms are multi bedded for students with twin rooms for leaders.Shower cubicles are located within the bedrooms, with shared WC facilities on the landing. After you’ve booked

Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start work on the finer details. They’ll make sure your ski lessons, gear hire and après-ski activities are all sorted and they’ll take on most of the other admin tasks (so you can look forward to the trip as much as the kids).

Support while you’re away

While you’re away, you’ll be looked after by a Halsbury rep based in your resort. Plus, our HQ staff will be on available by phone, 24 hours a day. You’ll get a final info pack before you go with all the info you need, plus access to all your trip documents on the Vamoos app.

After your trip

When you return, we’ll ask you to complete a detailed feedback survey, so we can continue our service. This is also the perfect time to start planning your next trip, so you can give parents plenty of time to pay for it (and make it easier for you).
