School Spanish Culture Trip to Seville

Halsbury Sticker

Over 2,000 years old, Seville’s a living classroom where Spanish history and culture come alive.

Wandering through the labyrinthine streets of Seville’s historic centre, your students will be transported back in time while flamenco music echoes passionately through the air. They’ll be awestruck by the city’s lavish architecture – much of which was started by the Moors before the wealth brought back from the Americas allowed for even more decadent embellishments during the 15th and 16th centuries.

From the sumptuous Alcazar palace to the impressive cathedral and its famous bell tower (La Giralda), Seville's full of spectacular sights. Make sure you spend some time in Plaza de España (can your students identify all 48 provinces of Spain celebrated in coloured tiles?) and don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a boat cruise along the River Guadalquivir (where the Conquistadors departed on their expeditions to the New World).

Your Spanish trip to Seville will be packed with cultural highlights. You’ll definitely want to earmark some time to learn more about flamenco (we can highly recommend the Museo del Baile Flamenco). And you can’t leave Seville without experiencing tapas – the city has one of the best tapas scenes in the country and it’s a great way to try several local delicacies.
