Halsbury Travel was created by former teacher Keith Sharkey, who had led school trips himself and wanted to make the process easier for other busy teachers.
Part of that is making sure that we’re with you every step of the way, from your first enquiry, to the moment you return home!
Creating your perfect trip
Your enquiry will be responded to by one of our experienced Tour Advisers, who will be able to provide you with expert advice on choosing the best destination for your group.
When you are happy with your quote, you’ll be able to make a no obligation provisional booking. This means we’ll hold the place for your group for 30 days while you promote it to students and collect their initial deposits.
If you have any questions about the process at any point please do ask – we want to make it as straightforward for you as possible. And you may also like to read our guide to organising a school trip.
As well as taking on all the administrative tasks of arranging your school trip, we offer a number of other group leader benefits you can look forward to.

Got approval for your trip? Now you’ll need to convince parents to allow their children to attend – and we’ve written a guide to help you with this too!
Still struggling to get your trip off the ground? Remember to tell everyone about the benefits your trip will bring to your students!
After you’ve booked
Once you’ve booked your trip, you’ll be put in touch with one of our dedicated Itinerary Coordinators.
Your Itinerary Coordinator will take on all the administrative tasks related to your school trip, and will work closely with you to finalise your transport, accommodation and itinerary.
You might want to start thinking about how you’re going to keep parents up-to-date with the progress of the trip – as well as providing them with updates while you’re away. Check out our guide to using social media to keep parents up-to-date.
Before you set off on your school trip, we’ll send you your group leader’s pack, which will include all the important information for your tour.
This will include a list of 24-hour emergency contact numbers, should you need any assistance while on your trip.
We’ll also provide you with a log in to the Vamoos app, giving you easy access to your travel documents on the move.
And if something does go wrong, don’t worry - we’ve a proven track record of dealing with the unexpected - our longstanding relationships with our trusted partners means we’re well placed to quickly resolve any issues, so you can continue to enjoy your trip!
