Snowsports Accounts to Follow on Social Media

The 2019-20 ski season still feels a long way off. But there are plenty of ways to get that all important ski fix, even when you’re away from the mountains!

The Halsbury Ski team particularly love using Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with resort news, see photos, videos and updates from our groups, share trip planning resources and get inspired by some of the world’s best skiers and snowboarders.

Here’s a list of our six favourite snowsports athletes and organisations to follow on social media.

Menna & Jen

Visually impaired Menna Fitzpatrick has just 5% vision. But she doesn’t let that doesn’t get in the way of her dreams.

Along with guide Jennifer Kehoe, the dream team have raced their way to being four-time Olympic medallists. In fact, they’re Britain’s most decorated winter Paralympians.

We particularly like their Instagram account where they share inspiring insights into their training regime. They are also heavily involved in charities and events which aim to raise the profile of disability sport and help to get more young people involved in snowsports. They also have a Facebook and Twitter account.

Daisi Daniels

17-year-old Daisi Daniels is one to watch. She has her heart set on representing Team GB at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and with a cabinet already brimming with gold medals and trophies, we’re backing her.

We love her Instagram where, as well as posting training updates, she also shares inspirational quotes. She also has a Facebook and Twitter page.

Mikaela Shiffrin

24-year-old Mikaela Shiffrin is an American alpine skier who holds three Olympic medals and three overall World Cup titles, to name but a few. At the age of 18 she became the youngest slalom champion in Olympic alpine skiing history!

We love Mikaela’s Twitter for the retweets of cute videos and photos of kids skiing and for the way she champions other athletes, including those from outside the world of snowsports.

We also find her Instagram bio highly relatable: ‘Love animals, pasta (food in general), and sleeping’. She also has a Facebook page.

Billy Morgan

Team GB Snowboarder Billy brought a bronze medal home from the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. But perhaps his greatest claim to fame is his world record – in 2015 he became the first snowboarder ever to land an 1800 quadruple cork. That’s a dizzying five lateral spins and four vertical spins!

Billy is now sponsored by Red Bull and his Instagram is full of photos and videos of him doing exciting adventure sports such as paramotoring, BMX and, of course, snowboarding. He also has a Facebook and Twitter account.

Snowsport England
