Halal School Trip to Andalusia and Morocco

Halsbury Sticker

A halal school trip to Andalusia and Morocco will give your students the opportunity to explore the fascinating history of Islam in the Iberian Peninsula!

The Umayyad Caliphate continued the Muslim conquests, eventually expanding into the Maghreb and the Iberian Peninsula. Between 711 and 1492, vast swathes of the Iberian Peninsula were ruled by Muslim Arab and Berber states in North Africa. Many of the cities in Andalusia, such as Cordoba and Granada, still boast spectacular Islamic architecture from the period. Your students will love exploring these two exciting Spanish cities and learning more about this period of their history.

Also controlled by the Umayyads, a visit to Tangier in Morocco is also included in the itinerary. Here, your students will have the chance to see for themselves how the culture of Andalusia has been influenced by North African Islamic culture.
