The town, on the French-Italian border, is not a purpose-built ski resort, so it has retained its alpine charm. Plus, Bardonecchia boasts the friendly, tranquil atmosphere you would expect to find in a historic mountain village, which really suits the needs of school ski groups. Bardonecchia has an excellent snow record and, as the slopes are predominantly north-facing, snow cover is consistently conserved.

Skiing in Bardonecchia

Starting at 1300m, this resort is higher than many others, extending up to 2750m. Most of the skiing is above 1500m, which is the height beginners can expect to start with. There is good progression from the beginner slopes to the intermediate level, and from there on to the more advanced slopes, so skiers/boarders of all abilities tends to improve quickly in Bardonecchia. There's an exciting snowpark too, with different zones including a number of rails, jibs and jumps that your snowboarders will love! Perhaps the greatest thing about a school ski trip to Bardonecchia is that you’ll return home satisfied that your students have skied as much of the mountain as they are capable of.

After you’ve booked

Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start work on the finer details. They’ll make sure your ski lessons, gear hire and après-ski activities are all sorted and they’ll take on most of the other admin tasks (so you can look forward to the trip as much as the kids).

Support while you’re away

While you’re away, you’ll be looked after by a Halsbury rep based in your resort. Plus, our HQ staff will be on available by phone, 24 hours a day. You’ll get a final info pack before you go with all the info you need, plus access to all your trip documents on the Vamoos app.

After your trip

We had an excellent time on this year's ski trip to Bardonecchia. We found the short walk from our hotel to the slopes excellent for our party; it took no longer than 10 mins to get kitted up and on to the slopes. The hotel really suited our school. There were plenty of things to keep both staff and students occupied. The slopes have lots of blue and red runs and are great for beginner and intermediate groups. Thank you so much!!!
