Accommodation

Konka Camps

Stay in lodge-style accommodation for a real African experience! Here you’ll see plenty of wildlife roaming about, but that’s not the best bit. This accommodation has a huge range of sporting activities available on-site, including rugby and football pitches, netball courts, and hockey and cricket fields. Not to mention the high ropes, obstacle courses, hiking, swimming and kayaking opportunities also on site! Each lodge has its own bathroom, TV and air-conditioning.

Lady Hamilton Hotel

This lovely pink-hued hotel lies in the shadow of Table Mountain, in the lush Gardens district of Cape Town. Here, you’ll enjoy the peace of the suburbs and the convenience of the city centre, which is just 5-10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms and a view over either the city or Table Mountain itself. You’ll also have fabulous views of the mountain out by the stylish swimming pool. There’s also an on-site restaurant, where you can help yourself to a delicious buffet breakfast. Dinner is also available at the restaurant and is also served buffet-style, with plenty of salads, roasts, curries and stews – so there’ll be something to please even the fussiest of eaters!

Excursions

Table Mountain Cable Car

The best views of Cape Town are seen from the top of Table Mountain. The Cableway takes you to the summit in under 10 minutes and the cable car's rotating floor ensure that all passengers get a 360 degree aerial view of the city.

Cape Point

Cape Point is situated within the Southern section of Table Mountain National Park, the Cape of Good Hope entrance. The Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) encompasses the incredibly scenic Table Mountain Chain stretching from Signal Hill in the north to Cape Point in the south and the seas and coastline of the peninsula. The narrow finger of land with its beautiful valleys, bays and beaches is surrounded by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean in the west and the warmer waters of False Bay and has within its boundaries two world-renowned landmarks - majestic Table Mountain and the legendary Cape of Good Hope.

Boulders Beach Penguin Colony

Boulders Penguin Colony is home to a growing colony of the vulnerable African Penguin. Wooden walkways allow visitors to view the penguins in their natural habitat and there is also a new information centre. Children will love the penguins and their antics and Boulders Beach is also worth a stop for safe and enjoyable swimming.

Robben Island

Robben Island, just off Cape Town’s coast, is a symbol of the triumph of human spirit, democracy and freedom over adversity, oppression and racism. Political prisoners were sent into exile here for over four centuries and it was here that Nelson Mandela spent 18 of the 27 years of his imprisonment for conspiracy to overthrow the apartheid government. Current president, Jacob Zuma also spent time on this inhospitable island in the Atlantic Ocean. It is now home to a museum, where visitors can learn more about the history of the island, as well as what life was like there for prisoners.

Langa Township Tour

Give your students the unique opportunity to visit Cape Town’s oldest township.

Two Oceans Aquarium

The southern tip of the African continent is the meeting place of two mighty and bountiful oceans, the Indian and the Atlantic. The Two Oceans Aquarium on the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town is ideally positioned to showcase the incredible diversity of marine life found in these two oceans. The Aquarium is one of the top tourist attractions in Cape Town and over 3000 living sea animals, including sharks, fish, seals, turtles and penguins can be seen in this spectacular underwater nature reserve.

Kariega Game Reserve

When in South Africa, you cannot miss out on a safari adventure. This family-run safari park on the Garden Route is a malaria-free reserve which offers you the opportunity to spot the ‘Big 5’ (the African lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, African leopard and White or Black rhinoceros).

Valley of the Waves

What better way to relax with your team than in this spectacular water park? The park’s big draw is the Roaring Lagoon, a huge wave pool where you’ll battle waves of nearly 2m high every 90 seconds! There’s massive slides to chuck yourselves down and, for those more sedate moments, a lazy river that will carry you around an island while you lay back and soak up some of that South African sunshine.

Supporting you
every step of the way

Creating your perfect sports tour

Your quote will be put together by an experienced Tour Adviser who’ll be an expert in school sports tours and will know the destination really well too. They’ll work with you to create a tour to suit your group’s needs and meet your tour objectives.

Launching your tour to parents and students

The next step is to get your tour approved and then get students signed up to it. Our ‘Trip Launch Pack’ will help you with this step. Here you’ll find loads of resources (all free to download) designed to make your life easier at this crucial point in the planning process.

After
you’ve booked

Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start working on the finer details. They’ll make sure your itinerary makes the most of your time and they’ll take on most of the admin tasks for your tour (making the whole process a lot less stressful for you).

Support while
you’re away

While you’re out on tour, we’ll be at the end of the phone 24 hours a day to provide support should you need it. We’ll also send you a final info pack before you go and you’ll be able to access all your tour documents via the free Vamoos app.

After
your trip

When you return from your sports tour, we’ll ask you to complete a detailed feedback survey, which helps us continue to improve the service we offer. And we can start planning your next tour too, so you can give parents plenty of time to pay for it (and so it’s less stressful for you).

Let's chat!

We had a fantastic trip, the itinerary was organised and suitable for our group. The students and staff had a brilliant trip of a lifetime.
